GP traffic police step up operations on major routes ahead of Easter

The Gauteng Traffic Police are ramping up enforcement operations on major routes, including the N1, N3, and N4, ahead of the Easter long weekend.

This in an effort to reduce road crashes linked to speeding, reckless driving, and vehicle overloading.

Spokesperson Sello Maremane encourages motorists to avoid overspeeding.

“Road users are encouraged to avoid overspeeding or risky overtaking. Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Ensure that all passengers are legally seated and wearing seatbelts. Delay travelling due to poor weather conditions where possible and obey all road signs and traffic signals.”
