New local government election logo.
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has unveiled its local government election logo at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg, this morning.
The logo reveal comes ahead of the local government elections, which are expected to take place later this year.
The first voter registration weekend will take place in June.
IEC CEO Sy Mamabolo says, “The electoral edifice of our country is not built solely by institutions. It is sustained by citizens who choose to engage. Citizens who remain invested in our country’s democratic project. The campaign about to be unveiled is more than a slogan. It is an appeal to every South African to rise above apathy, to reject disengagement and to actively shape the future of our communities.”
