UFH vice-chancellor who is currently on suspension , Professor Sakhela Buhlungu
A student leader at the University of Fort Hare (UFH) , Sinovuyo Mpola, says they welcome the precautionary suspension of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Sakhela Buhlungu. Students at the university have held several protests demanding that he steps down.

Mpola says Buhlungu’s leadership is not in the best interests of students.
“It has been long overdue and we are quiet happy as students of Fort Hare that finally the council has taken a decision to suspend the VC. Prof Buhlungu has been undermining student activism and student leaders at large.”
