Traffic officials in Western Cape
Western Cape traffic authorities say their teams will maintain a high visibility on the province’s roads this Easter.
Authorities have issued a stern warning to road users that lawlessness will not be tolerated.
Traffic Chief Maxine Bezuidenhout says traffic volumes are expected to peak later on Thursday.
“Our focus will be on major routes and known hotspot areas, with operations targeting speeding, drunk driving, fatigue, and safe use of public transport.”
Bezuidenhout adds, “Road users can expect regular vehicle checkpoints and increased high-visibility patrols throughout the weekend. We are also placing strong emphasis on pedestrian safety, especially in high-traffic areas where risk is higher. Our message is simple: plan your trip, stay patient, and make responsible choices on the road.”
