President Cyril Ramaphosa says investment commitments of close to R900 billion will be announced later on Tuesday, at the Sixth South Africa Investment Conference in Sandton, Johannesburg.
The President says the pledged investments are expected to create around 222 000 permanent jobs, providing a much-needed boost to economic growth and employment at a time when South Africans are grappling with rising living costs.
Ramaphosa has emphasised that investment in South Africa must go beyond profit, calling on businesses to commit to advancing the interests of ordinary citizens and contributing to inclusive economic development.
He reiterated that South Africa remains open for business, describing the country as an attractive and competitive destination for investors, despite ongoing domestic and global economic challenges
