N3 linking KZN and Gauteng
The N3 Toll Concession says it expects heavy traffic on the N3 toll route between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal from Thursday this week, ahead of the Easter weekend.
The N3TC says traffic on the route was also heavier than usual this past weekend as motorists travelled to holiday destinations for the school holiday, with about 1 400 vehicles per hour travelling southbound towards the coast on Friday and Saturday.
Chief Operating Officer of the N3TC Thania Dhoogra, “Predictions thus far indicate that traffic volumes are likely to remain steady throughout the week, with busy traffic conditions expected in a southbound direction on Thursday, 2 April, and Friday, 3 April 2026. Peak traffic volumes are still expected on Easter Monday, 6 April, and Tuesday, 7 April, as the end of the Easter weekend and the school holidays coinciding. All construction activities on the N3 Toll Route will be suspended from Thursday the 2nd of April to Tuesday the 7th of April .”
