Shebe Maburna plans fresh bail bid citing new information

A prominent lekompo musician, Lehlohonolo Chauke, better known as Shebe Maburna, intends to apply for bail based on new information.
He has been in custody since his arrest in November last year on charges of attempted murder, malicious damage to property and unlawful possession of a firearm. His previous bail applications have all failed.

Advocate Michael Khumalo says he will request for a date for a bail hearing before the trial in the regional court.

“There’s one aspect your worship perhaps I should deal with it now,  I come into these proceedings for the purposes of an application for bail based on new facts. We sought to arrange a date for the purposes of bail proceedings on new facts but we could not reach him. So what we agreed on is that we may transfer the matter to the regional court, but before he appears there as we know the court jurisdiction. We will then issue a requisition on the strength of your worship, the applicant, the accused would then come and appear and apply for bail.”
