Leadership changes don’t reflect instability: MKP

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) has defended its continuous leadership changes.

Since its inception in December 2023, the MKP has had eight people holding the position of Secretary General.

Some political analysts have described the changes as a one-man show and a strategy managed at the discretion of party leader Jacob Zuma.

Others say this has portrayed the party as unstable.

The MKP’s new Secretary-General Sibonelo Nomvalo says changes in the party do not reflect instability.

Nomvalo says, “I also don’t understand people who would want to characterise the state of the MK Party as being unstable because we are making rapid changes of leadership. This is a new formation, which has political fragility, which is inevitable, we are young organisation we are less than three years.”

“So, constant changes are inevitable because from time to time we test characters to different responsibilities and if we realise that this character at this stage, does not take us to where we want to be we will change him and there is nothing wrong with that,” he adds.
