NPA Head Adv Andy Mothibi outlines his vision on Morning Live at the SABC in Auckland Park on March 25, 2026.
Newly appointed National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Head Adv Andy Mothibi says his focus is to restore the integrity of the office.
Speaking to SABC News on Wednesday morning, he said he wants to restore the public’s confidence in the NPA by focusing on prosecutions that matter most, especially following revelations of corruption and criminality at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
He also said that he had meaningful conversations with the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) team.
“The team really assured me that they’re hard at work. Some of the results you may have picked up late yesterday (Tuesday) in the evening, that there are some of the arrests that IDAC has effected, and the appearance will be this morning.”
He added, “So, part of the focus of the overall NPA, but now in particular IDAC is really to ensure that we run our business on ethical basis to ensure that the ethics and the integrity that we do our work with is above board.”
