Suspended National Deputy Police Commissioner, General Shadrack Sibiya, has alluded to the fact that Kwa-Zulu Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi is responsible for the surge in social media accounts supporting him.
Sibiya is testifying at the Madlanga Commission. He is at the centre of corruption allegations at the commission.

Commission chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga has put it to Sibiya that he cannot expect Mkhwanazi to have control over social media accounts that support him.
“Does General Mkwanazi have his own accounts, social media accounts, or does he have a presence on social media through posts by other people? Commissioner— Because if it’s the latter, you cannot expect him to have control over that. Commissioner, I must say, directly or indirectly, there’s no way he’s not involved. For simple reason, No, no, can you answer, does he have his own social media accounts? Yes or no? I don’t know about that, Commissioner.”
