Reagile Primary School in Tembisa
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane will visit the family of a Grade 5 learner from the Reagile Primary School in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
The learner died after a goalpost fell on him while he was playing on the school’s soccer field.
Police have launched an investigation.
Provincial Education spokesperson Steve Mabona says MEC is expected to provide on how the department will manage the investigation.
“MEC Chiloane will be conveying his condolences to the family, and also providing an update on how the department will be managing the investigation or the probe on the circumstances surrounding this sad incident.”
