Ekurhuleni suspends two senior officials

The Ekurhuleni Head of Legal Services Kemi Behari and Head of Human Resources Linda Qxasheka have been placed on full suspension.

Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza says the suspensions form part of the city’s ongoing programme of strengthening governance systems, reinforcing accountability and restoring administrative integrity.

Behari and Qxasheka were implicated in the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria as having failed to discipline suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Deputy Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi.

A report by police watchdog, IPID, recommended that disciplinary action be taken against Mkhwanazi for allegedly entering into a corrupt contract with attempted murder accused Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala’s private security company.
