Bantu Church youth reflect on Bishop Bolana’s enduring lessons


As tributes continue to pour in for the fifth bishop of the Bantu Church of Christ, Dr John Bolana, the youth of the church have reflected on the life lessons he leaves behind.

The funeral service of one of the oldest leaders of the Bantu Church of Christ, Bishop Bolana, is under way in Brighton, Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

Youth member Dumisani Ntloko spoke of his guidance, humility, and unwavering faith. He has described how Bolana’s teachings have shaped their values and inspired them to serve their communities with purpose and integrity.

“The life lessons that Tat’Mkhulu gave us is to be able to understand God and be able to live where we’ staying at home in our houses, our at home and respect to the elders. and also understand what God needs and then the ways of living in our community, workingplaces, and so forth.”

The Special Provincial Funeral Category Two that he has been accorded is in recognition of his spiritual leadership and service to the people of the province.

Transport and Community Safety MEC, Xolile Nqatha says the church also served as a place of refuge during the fight against apartheid.

“And to express our sense of loss and to express our tribute and give a well deserves and send off to a great human being, and to a servant of the people, whose example has taught us as a provincial government, as the African National Congress. What is it to serve. What is it to be loyal and to be committed in serving the people Indeed, Dr Bolana demonstrated that God is not a neutral God.”
