New Zealand secure second Group D win at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

New Zealand have recorded a second Group D win at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India. The Black Caps crushed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 10 wickets in Chennai.

The UAE, who won the toss, posted a competitive 173 for the loss of six wickets thanks to half-centuries from Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu.

But New Zealand coasted to victory with 28 balls to spare.

Openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen made 89 and 84 not out, hitting 17 fours and eight sixes between them.

Black Caps next take on South Africa in Ahmedabad on Saturday, but the Proteas first play Afghanistan at the same venue tomorrow morning.
