NCC issues urgent safety notice over recently launched MG3 car model

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has issued an urgent safety notice involving Chinese-owned car maker SAIC South Africa. The recall is specifically regarding the recently launched MG3 car model. The commission says a seat defect in the vehicles could cause the driver’s seat to move unexpectedly during a collision. The recall affects about 200 already sold vehicles.

The commission’s spokesperson Phetho Ntaba says as  consumers of any goods in South Africa, when a recall is announced and it affects your product, or your vehicle in this case – once made aware of any defects in vehicle yours is to stop driving this vehicle, it’s important to contact the manufacturer or the dealership to say my car is part of the recall- what do I do? If you’re not certain, contact the dealership.”
