Azanian Independent Community Movement and the Creatives Congress Movement after the announcement of a merger with the two parties on 26 January 2026.
ActionSA has confirmed that they will only contest some municipalities in the upcoming local government elections (LGE).
The party announced that it will merge with the Azanian Independent Community Movement and the Creatives Congress Movement to contest the polls under one banner.
Party leader Herman Mashaba said they party will further deliberate in which municipalities it will contest, assuring that Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane will not be left out.
“So, we will keep you abreast but I think, I’m sure by the latest June, the party will make a decision on which municipalities we’re going to contest. But we’re not going to contest all the municipalities. We made a mistake and we learn from our mistakes as human beings. We’re not going to repeat the same mistake, trying to be everything to everyone because we end up being nobody.”
