The City of Ekurhuleni has dismissed allegations that the water supply in Tsakani, Duduza, Langaville and KwaThema has been poisoned.
Claims have been circulating on social media about the quality of water in these areas.
City Spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, says water is tested on a daily basis and has confirmed that it is safe and fully compliant with national drinking water standards.
“There is no problem with the water in the City of Ekurhuleni. People can continue consuming our water. It still remains among the best in the country. So, whoever is actually sending out these false allocations and voice notes, which we have picked up in the social media space is actually being a person who does not take the feelings of our people very seriously and we strongly condemn that,” says Dlamini.
