The KwaZulu-Natal police have re-enlisted the service of 59 experienced detectives to bolster crime fighting in the province.
Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection Anthony Gopaul welcomed the officers at an integration session in Durban.
Some of the detectives have already started work in November last year.
Gopaul said that South Africans deserved justice and that can be achieved when their cases were thoroughly investigated.
He told the detectives that accountability was non-negotiable, that professionalism was a must and added that no case could go cold under their watch.
