There is a huge police contingent outside the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court, south of Johannesburg.
This is ahead of the appearance of a 22-year-old scholar transport driver who was involved in a crash on Monday.
Gauteng police have confirmed that two more learners involved in the crash have succumbed to injuries.
This puts the death toll at 14. The driver is facing 14 charges of culpable homicide and reckless, negligent driving.
Police are expected to add more charges after it was established that he does not have a public driving permit. The driver was arrested after being discharged from hospital.
