The National Prosecuting Authority has charged a woman for fraud
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has urged the public to report people impersonating government representatives or private company agents to solicit money in exchange for jobs.
This comes after the Ubombo Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal fined a 33-year-old woman R4000 for three months in jail. Nozipho Mathunjwa was found guilty of impersonating a Human Settlements Department Manager.
“She plead guilty to two counts of fraud amounting to R4000. The offences took place in the uMkhanyakude District in the northern part of KwaZulu-Natal. The NPA hopes that the finalisation of this matter serves as a deterrent to would-be offenders,” says NPA provincial spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara.
