The Limpopo Education Department’s Noko-Tlou circuit says it is unable to deliver matric results statements to the Kgadimo Secondary School in Ga-Mampa village in Mafefe because the Mohlapitsi River has burst its banks.
This follows heavy rains which have caused floods.
A member of the Noko-Tlou circuit, Patrick Kgasago says it is difficult for vehicles to cross the bridge as it’s submerged.
He says some learners who cross the river from Lebowakgomo and Ga-Mphahele, have not gone to school to get their results.
Kgasago says that learners at the Komane Primary School in the same area have also been affected.
“As the department we have a problem of bringing the results to the school because of the swelling river, Mohlapitsi River. There is no way we can force it because it is very dangerous so we are appealing to the community and all the parents of the learners to wait for the department to make a way to bring the results to the school because there’s not going to be any way the parents will come to the department to take the children’s results.”
