Heavy rain in an area
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is predicting scattered showers and severe thunderstorms on Thursday in KwaZulu-Natal.
SAWS says several impact-based warnings can be expected.
Rain can also be expected in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
“We see a few thunderstorms developing over KwaZulu-Natal, although those conditions for now are still ordinary. However, later on we are expecting them to develop into severe thunderstorms across the province. Severe thunderstorms are expected across Mpumalanga and the extreme southern regions of Limpopo. But here in Gauteng we are expecting ordinary conditions. Moving over to tomorrow, we are expecting rainfall to occur once more over Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal but as for the Cape provinces, we can only expect few showers along the coast of the Eastern Cape,” says Puseletso Mofokeng, South African Weather Service forecaster.
