Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.
The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo has postponed to February 19, 2026, the case of one of the three suspects in the shooting incident in Saulsville, Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria.
Twelve people were killed and 13 others were wounded in the incident, which happened earlier this month.
The suspect was arrested on the N1 road outside Polokwane last week. He’s facing charges of possessing an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.
Ballistic tests have linked the firearm recovered during the suspect’s arrest to the shooting.
The suspect cannot be identified at this stage as he has yet to appear at an identity parade.
Magistrate Rodgers Mashibane explains the reason for the postponement.
“Investigations are still outstanding, that is ballistic report and chain of evidence statements. By agreement, this matter is now postponed to the 19th of February 2026 for further investigations. The suspect will remain in custody until then. You will appear again in court in the newly renovated court across the street.”
