Day three of the search of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) member who was swept away by the flooded and crocodile-infested Komati River has been suspended, for the day.

Earlier, the police diving unit in Mpumalanga said it was getting difficult to search for the SANDF member who remains missing as the river was again breaking its banks after last night’s downpour. The team walked by the side of the river to continue with the operation while drones have also been deployed to search along the river.

One body was recovered on Friday after the vehicle carrying two SANDF members was swept away at the lower bridge, in Komatipoort.
The police diving unit’s Johannes Potgieter said the problem is that the water is up and is much faster and running harder than the last two days because of the rain higher in Mpumalanga.
