Police have launched a manhunt for suspects in the killing of 16-year-old learner Linomtha Skeyi from Makhanda in the Eastern Cape.
Skeyi was reported missing on Christmas Eve after her body was found in an open field behind the provincial Social Development Department’s offices in Makhanda.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says, “Tragically, during a search and rescue operation on Christmas Day, her body was discovered at about 09:20 by a volunteer searcher. Preliminary observations indicated she had sustained several wounds to her upper body.”
Nkohli says they are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect (s) to reach out to the police.
