Three of Five suspects accused of killing former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Defence witness Absolom Zungu returns to the High Court in Pretoria on Monday for the murder trial of former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Zungu allegedly gave investigators a breakthrough by linking two of the accused to the killing.
He is the father of key state witness Constable Sizwe Zungu, who placed all the accused at a Vosloorus hostel on the day of the murder.
Five suspects are accused of killing Meyiwa in 2014.
Absolom Zungu has distanced himself from a statement attributed to him by lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda, claiming under cross-examination that police abducted him when that statement was made.
Accused one’s lawyer Adv. Charles Mnisi asked: “In the process or in that process is Brigadier Gininda with you? Is he amongst the occupants of that vehicle?”
Zungu answered: “He was there.”
Mnisi then said: “Yeah? I must tell you Mr. Zungu that was abduction, you were taken against your will…you were fraudulently removed from your place.”
Zungu replied: “That’s how I saw the manner. Yes…”
Mnisi said: “In South African law, that’s a criminal offence.”
