Date set for Brown Mogotsi’s appearance before Madlanga Commission

Brown Mogotsi, an alleged associate of Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, (who has been placed on a leave of absence) is expected to take the stand at the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.

The North West businessman has been placed in the centre of allegations of criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system.

Mogotsi has been accused of playing a middle-man between alleged cartel member, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and Mchunu.

Whatsapp exchanges placed before the commission seem to show that Mogotsi allegedly received monetary benefits from Matlala.

Mogotsi’s scheduled appearance comes as the inquiry enters Phase 2 of its evidence, which will give implicated persons the chance to respond to allegations against them.

The hearing will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday.
