Tshwane Metro Police Department truck loaded with confiscated goods.
The City of Tshwane has arrested four officials and four Chinese nationals after uncovering a prostitution ring in the Pretoria CBD.
City officials conducted a raid in which they arrested 30 other people on Tuesday night.
Tshwane mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya says they are determined to reclaim the City.
“This is one of the ways in which we’re going to reclaim the city. But what is clear is that these people are working with our officials. The electricity … the way it is done. They are confessing that they are paying R5000, so we have a problem internally.”
“Our officials are not loyal, some of them. So we are taking [arresting] these ones. We’re going to charge those four officials for running a prostitution ring and for employing illegal immigrants.”
