Sibiya withholds comment on images from Mncube’s phone in Meyiwa case

Muzi Sibiya, accused number one in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, could not be drawn to comment on images downloaded from the phone said to belong to accused number three Mthobisi Mncube.

Sibiya is under cross examination in the Pretoria High Court where he is appearing alongside four of his co-accused for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.

State Prosecutor George Baloyi has been taking Sibiya through the photos.

Sibiya: Now that the cell-phone is not mine, it can be very much difficult or hard for me to say as to whom do I see on the pictures simply because those pictures, they were never downloaded in my cell phone and then they were downloaded from accused number three’s cell phone. Therefore, he can be the only person to testify on that. And as I have said, in the court before, I never knew accused number three prior before our appearance at Boksburg, and that is when I began to know him during our first appearance at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.

Baloyi: But you can just merely say whether you recognise any of the persons only on the photo.
