South Africa failed to reach the quarterfinals of the CAF African Nations Championship in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. This after they played to a 3-all draw with the host nation Uganda in a Group C match at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, on Monday evening.
Bafana needed to beat the host nation or alternatively hope that Niger beat Algeria in another Group match to advance to the quarterfinals.
Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Thabiso Kutumela and Phillip Ndlondlo scored for Bafana Bafana.
