Snow being removed along the N2 (R56) between Port Shepstone and Kokstad to the Eastern Cape.
The KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Department (C0GTA) says 80 households have been affected by recent damaging strong winds and snowfall.
The department has reported that about 68 schools across nine districts sustained damage.
The Ugu District on the south coast is the hardest hit, accounting for 38 schools.

The department’s spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila says mop-up operations are continuing.
“The MEC is working closely with line function departments to ensure that relief is provided to communities that have been affected. The MEC is also working closely with departments such as Department of Education to ensure that assessments are done and completed as quickly as possible,” adds Mzila.
