Bloemfontein police have arrested 35 people in a crime combating operation at the Southern Landfill Dump. Ammunition, drugs, and alcohol are some of the items police seized during the operation.
Police Spokesperson Loraine Earle says 31 of the arrested suspects are illegal immigrants residing at the landfill site.
Earle says investigations are underway to determine whether any of the suspects are linked to other criminal activities.
All suspects are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein and Batho courts on Monday.
