30-year-old woman arrested for alleged murder of boyfriend

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of her boyfriend in Dark City, Phahameng in Bloemfontein.

Police spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli says officers received information about a murder and upon arrival at the house they discovered that the man had been stabbed once in the chest.

Kareli says further investigation led to the arrest of his girlfriend who was found in the house.

A possible murder weapon was recovered at the scene.

Meanwhile, three men will appear in the Orkney Magistrate’s Court in the North West tomorrow on a charge of attempted murder.

They are alleged to have severely assaulted the owner of a resort.

Provincial Police Spokesperson Adele Myburgh says the three were allegedly smoking a hubbly bubbly which is against the rules of the resort.

“Employees warned the group twice not to use it at the day resort, but then called the owner when aggressive behaviour was displayed. When the owner went to the group a third time, he was assaulted and stabbed numerous times with a knife and rushed to a local hospital for treatment,” says Myburg.
