Free State police have arrested 271 wanted criminals.
This follows the weeklong Operation Shanela which saw a total of over 1 200 arrests during targeted raids.
Offences range from possession of dangerous weapons, illegal dealing in liquor, possession of drugs and assault.
Police spokesperson Sinah Mpakane says mines were also visited to monitor adherence to safety and labour laws.
Mpakane says during the raids, police seized drugs, alcohol, dangerous weapons and explosives.
She says all confiscated firearms have been submitted for ballistic testing to determine whether they were used in the commission of other crimes.
