A prisoner behind bars in a maximum-security prison.
The Garies Regional Court in the Northern Cape has sentenced a 25-year-old man to 15 years imprisonment for the murder of a 39-year-old man in Klipfontein.
Police spokesperson, Ivan Magerman, says the accused, Juandre Smith fatally stabbed the deceased last year with a screwdriver after an argument.
“Investigations revealed the victim and the accused had been drinking together at a residence in Smith’s location when an argument broke out. The victim left to return home, but the accused followed him and fatally stabbed him with a screwdriver. The accused was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with murder,” says Magerman.
