About 200 people have been left homeless after shacks were gutted by fire at the Plastic View informal settlement in Hoedspruit, Limpopo.
Maruleng municipal spokesperson Justice Shipalana says there were no fatalities or injuries.
Shipalana says firefighters responded to the emergency but most shacks had been burnt down.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Shipalana says they have provided temporary shelter for the fire victims.
