The Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court has heard that the Bhambayi community of Inanda, KwaZulu-Zulu is living in fear because of the high crime rate in the area as the bail application for 12 men accused of hacking to death five people in Bhambayi continues.
The accused are facing charges of kidnapping, murder and attempted murder.

The accused have filed affidavits denying involvement in the murders.
The court has heard that accused number 9, Bongani Nkabinde, is familiar with the boy who allegedly pointed him out to the police the day after the murders.
Nkabinde told the court that he had occasionally seen the five deceased around the settlement, however, denied involvement in their murders.
